Description

This is the histopathological image of CONNECTIVE, SUBCUTANEOUS AND OTHER SOFT TISSUES tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Tumor of subcutaneous tissue of left forearm.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-O_3.2

Classification code: ADENOMAS AND ADENOCARCINOMAS

Diagnosis: Merkel cell carcinoma

Result of the histopathological examination: Tumor composed of small round cells. High nuclear:cytoplasmic ratio. Hyperchromatic nuclei with finely chromatin. Scant cytoplasm. High mitotic activity. Cancer cells: CKAE1/AE3+, CK7-, CK20+ (dot-like), SYN+, CHR+, CK5/6-, CD117 słabo+, S100-, LCA-, Ki-67 80%.
