Smart, digitalized components and systems for data-based Agriculture and Forestry

The AGRARSENSE project will focus on contemporary agricultural challenges. Which include botheconomic factors such as the need to increase productivity and cost efficiency. The decreasingnumber of people working in EU agriculture and the factors of sustainable development within the EU(Green Deal) have a key impact on reducing economic costs or interruptions in the supply ofagricultural products. The activities will allow for the rapid detection and accurate identification ofpathogens and other factors affecting plant and animal health. For this purpose, as part of theAGRARSENSE project, dedicated devices and systems in the field of microelectronics, photonics,cyber-physical systems and devices, embedded systems will be developed. Including energy-efficientand reliable wireless communication, as well as autonomous systems, including agriculturalequipment, greenhouse automation systems, drones and robots. PG will be responsible fordevelopment of new reconfigurable antennas and its integration within the base station that will bedone in collaboration with international partners. Expected outcomes include new high IF publications,know-how that will potentially be sold via licenses to commercial partners and new internationalcollaboration.

  • Autonomous Robot for Efficient Indoor RF Measurements
    Publication

In this paper, we addresses the emergence of autonomous and semi-autonomous radio frequency (RF) measurements as a vital application for robots, particularly in indoor environments where traditional methods are labor-intensive and error-prone. We propose a method utilizing Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) equipped with Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and RGB-D cameras to conduct precise and repetitive RF signal measurements...

  • Influence of 3D Printed Overlay Infill Patterns on Miniaturized ESPAR Antenna Performance
    Publication

In this article, we show how different infill patterns influence the overall performance of miniaturized electrically steerable parasitic array radiator (ESPAR) antenna. The use of 3D printed dielectric overlays is a simple and flexible way to miniaturize ESPAR antennas, so they are more compact and can be better integrated with wireless sensor network (WSN) nodes or gateways in different application areas. Additionally, such overlays...
