The DIGIMPACT.EU project is a collaborative initiative involving five Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from Poland (Gdańsk University of Technology), Greece (University of the Aegean), Austria (University for Continuing Education Krems), The Netherlands (Delft University of Technology) and Switzerland (Università Svizzera italiana), and a pioneering open innovation company from Greece (Crowdpolicy), and coordinated by the Gdańsk University of Technology.
The project aims to enhance the capacity of HEIs for building innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities that rely on digital technology and digital transformation to generate high social impact in the areas such as agriculture, tourism, urban mobility, etc. The impact is generated by HEIs working with Associate Partners in each selected impact area.
The project is aligned with Strand A of the EIT HEI Call 4, which focuses on building innovation and entrepreneurship capacity within HEIs, developing partnerships between HEIs, public administrations, businesses and social enterprises, and fostering institutional change through such partnerships. The partnerships will enhance knowledge exchange and drive the joint development of high-quality educational programs in innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on each impact area. The courses will be adapted and updated throughout the project, ensuring continuous improvement of the content and methods. The project will also build new tools and services to support innovation and entrepreneurship, including ideation, business plans creation, good practice repositories, etc.
The project is important for PG for several reasons: to join the EU innovation ecosystem built around the European Institute of Innovation and Technology; to collaborate with university partners from Austria, Greece, Netherlands and Switzerland, particularly with Delft University of Technology as part of the ENHANCE alliance, on digital innovation and different impact areas selected by them; to collaborate locally with Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot municipalities on digital transformation for Tricity metropolitan urban transport; to promote collaboration between technology- and innovation-focused departments of the Faculty of Management and Economics; to strengthen research on digital government and its role for digital transformation in the areas of high social impact; etc.
