PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT:
Since 2004 prof. Ryszard F. Sadowski is employed at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy (WFCh) at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. He is a member of the research team of the Center for Ecology and Ecophilosophy (former Institute of Ecology and Ecophilosophy) UKSW. Since 2020 prof. Sadowski is Chair of Ecophilosophy in the Institut of Philosophy at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. Since 2020 prof. Ryszard F. Sadowski is a director of the Institute of Philosophy at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, Poland.
OBTAINED PROFESSIONAL TITLES AND SCIENTIFIC DEGREES:
- Postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in the field of humanities, discipline of philosophy obtained on July 7, 2015 by the decision of the Council of the Faculty of Christian Philosophy of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (UKSW).
- Doctor’s degree in the field of humanities, discipline of philosophy obtained on April 4, 2004 by the decision of the Council of the Faculty of Christian Philosophy of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
- Master’s degree in the field of theological sciences, discipline of theology obtained on March 24, 1994 at the Faculty of Theology of the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw.
SCIENTIFIC INTEREST:
Prof. Sadowski's output covers anthropological and ecophilosophical studies of the ecological crisis, with particular emphasis on the role of various religious traditions both in the agency and prevention of this crisis. The main areas of research relate to the topics of sustainable development, biocultural diversity, cultural ecology, and environmental history. He is also introducing in Poland a new research trend referred to as “religion and ecology" initiated by M.E. Tucker and J.A. Grim.
