Zbadano zakres i ograniczenia tioacylowania opartego na ditiofosforanach tioacylu. Ditiofosforany tioacylo otrzymano w wyniku reakcji ditiofosforanów acylu z kwasem ditiofosforowym. Obecność dwóch podstawników w pozycji alfa we fragmencie acylowym faworyzowała tworzenie pochodnych tioketenu tym samym obniżając wydajność oczekiwanych ditiofosforanów tioacylu.
