Przedmiotem artykułu jest krótki przegląd stosowanych w praktyce rozwiązań systemu monitoringu ładunków kontenerowych oraz opis nowego rozwiązania globalnego systemu monitoringu, w szczególności budowy Inteligentnego Modułu Kontenerowego (IMK) i jego roli w samoorganizującej się sieci monitoringu ładunków kontenerowych.
