A method of obtaining a glass-metal composite and its usage
Oferta komercjalizacji
Description
Application and audience
The obtained material is used in the production of thermocouples (temperature sensors) or Peltier modules (refrigerators, thermostats for aquaria, tissue transport) as a layer dividing the metal electrodes.
Customers:
- Thermocouple manufacturers;
- Gas furnace manufacturers;
- Manufacturers of thermostats for aquaria.
Innovative aspects and main features
- High electrical conductivity – S/cm;
- Metallic material with a high Seebeck coefficient;
- Glass insulating material with a low thermal conductivity coefficient;
- Placing the composite between two metal sheets makes it possible to obtain a thermocouple/Peltier module with a high electrical conductivity, high Seebeck coefficient and low thermal conductivity (obtaining electrical energy from thermal energy);
- The temperature difference between the electrodes causes electrical voltage to appear;
- The thermocouple operates at 300-600K.
