Biography

Marek Wójcikowski graduated in 1993 from the Department of Electronics at Gdansk University of Technology (GUT). In 2002 he obtained a doctoral degree in the field of electronics and in 2016 he obtained a habilitation at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at GUT. From the beginning of his career he is associated with GUT: first as an assistant (years 1994-2002) and then as assistant professor (since 2002) at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. In 1996 he took a 6-month researcher internship at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. He specializes in wireless sensor networks, programmable embedded systems and low-power image processing. He has published more than 60 scientific papers, including 9 in the journals from the JCR database. He is a co-author of an academic textbook. His work has been cited more than 90 times, and the Hirsch index is 5. Since 2013 he is a deputy head of the Department of Microelectronic Systems. He actively participated in the 7 research projects and he was the main contractor in 2 projects. He is a co-designer of 4 application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) in CMOS technologies from 2um to 90nm and several systems made in FPGA technology. He is also a co-author of the QoS coprocesssor implemented at Intel Technology Poland. He was awarded with 4 prizes of Rector of GUT. He received a Bronze Cross of Merit (2004).
