Biography

Michał Ryms, PhD, DSc, Eng. is the physicist, graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology. PhD thesis defended at the Chemical Faculty. Since 2011 an employee at the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage, Chemical Faculty, Gdansk University of Technology, POLAND – now as an associate professor. His research interests includes: improvement of energy efficiency and possibilities of new application of phase change materials (PCM) mainly in energy-saving building and asphalt road surfaces, research of alternative energy sources (ORC, biomass, biogas), new applications of thermal-visualization in experimental, theoretical and numerical investigations of the convective heat transfer from flat objects. Author of 3 books and more than 60 scientific publications and conference articles. His current research and teaching interests include: thermal stabilization and permanent deformation resistance of LWA/PCM-modified asphalt road surfaces, quantitative study of free convective heat losses from thermodynamic partitions using Thermal Imaging, possibilities of energy accumulation in PCM materials. Teaches graduate and undergraduate courses: Theory of Machines and Engineering Graphics, Technical Graphics, Renewable Energy Sources.
