Antioxidant potential of bee products

Description

Bee products have been used for centuries to treat diseases, due to their health-promoting properties resulting from the presence of bioactive substances, especially antioxidants. The antioxidant properties of bee products can contribute to the neutralization of free radicals that are harmful to the human body. Free radicals, being reactive particles, lead to oxidative stress, which results in cell damage and contributes to many diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

This dataset contains research data on the antioxidant activity of bee products, i.e. bee pollen, propolis and bee bread, determined using colorimetric tests: Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) and DPPH Radical Scavenging Assay. In addition, the total content of polyphenols and flavonoids in the tested samples of bee products was determined.
