Description
The datasets contain results of antitumor compounds* (known inhibitors of human topoisomerase alpha II) inhibitory activity against yeast topoisomerase II. DNA topoisomerases (Topo) are enzymes that catalyze changes in the spatial structure of DNA and play an important role in replication, transcription and recombination. Beyond their normal functions, DNA topo are significant molecular target in antimicrobial and anticancer chemotherapy.
Inhibition of Yeast Topoisomerase II were analysed according to the relaxation assay kit from Inspiralis (Cat no. YTR205). The relaxation of supercoiled plasmid DNA by yeast enzyme was studied in the presence of different concentrations of compounds with the use of a gel-based assay. The results were analysed on the 1% agarose gel in 1x TAE buffer, 3h, 4.5 V/cm. Gels were stained in GelRed 3x staining solution for 30 min and photographed with Gel Doc XR+Gel Documentation System.
