Description

The data set concerns epigraphy. It refers to the epitaph placed in St. Mary’s Church in Gdańsk which is dedicated to Eggert von Kempen, the progenitor of the von Kempen family, a wealthy Gdańsk merchant, alderman and councilor, and to his son John, an alderman and councilor who, due to unsuccessful financial operations, significantly depleted family wealth. The data set contains one general photo of the epitaph, transcription of its text in Latin, its Polish translation, and the short biography of the deceased, also in Polish.
