Description
The process of reform and consolidation of the cooperative banking sector in Poland conducted in the 1990s caused that in 1991-1999 the number of cooperative banks dropped from 1664 to 902. It should be noted that 131 banks collapsed, 632 were taken over by other banks. It should also be noted that during this period, in 1992, one cooperative bank was established.
