Description

The process of surface colonization, known as biofilm development, begins with bacterial attachment and involves various physicochemical and molecular interactions. Adhesion to neutral surfaces typically involves non-specific interactions, while adhesion to biological surfaces is governed by specific ligand-receptor interactions. In the experiment, the accumulation of recombinant Escherichia coli strains (AAEC191A/pCC90 and AAEC191A/pACYCpBAD) was studied under continuous flow conditions on glass and polystyrene surfaces. The objective was to assess how Dr fimbriae influenced bacterial accumulation on different surfaces. Bacterial cells were suspended in a phosphate buffer solution with a pH of 5.7, and the flow rate of the solution was tested at three levels: 0.02 ml/min, 0.1 ml/min, and 0.5 ml/min, with each flow lasting 15 minutes.

The catalog contains original video data that can be played using Olympus' CellSense software. The videos contain full layers of data characterizing the image recording process.
