TEM, EDS and optical microscope images of pristine and silica-coated bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) and gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) structures.

Description

Data consists of raw TEM/EDS and optical microscope images of pristine and silica-coated bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) and gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) structures. Additional TEM images and optical microscope images of silica shells were included.

TEM was performed on a Tecnai G2 F20 S-TWIN, FEI. Additionally, TEM was equipped with a high-angle annular dark field HAADF detector (STEM) and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDAX) module for elemental distribution analysis. Optical microscope images were taken using a Delta Optical microscope (Delta Optical, SZ-430B, Mississauga, ON, Canada) equipped with a 20 MP camera (DLT-Cam PRO).

  • The ZIP file constists of raw:
TEM images of Bi2O3, Bi2O3 silica coated - method A and Bi2O3 silica coated - method B structures
Corresponding EDS analyses of the structures
  • TEM images of Gd2O3, Gd2O3 silica coated - method A and Gd2O3 silica coated - method B structures
Corresponding EDS analyses of the structures
  • TEM images of pure silica shell synthesized using method B
  • Optical microscope images of synthesized silica shells using method A and method B.
