Age@Work - Building Capacity for Age Management in Human Resources

In the seed money stage of ManAGE, the first activity will be to take stock of a) where and how age management is taught in management and HR courses/programmes at universities and universities of applied sciences in the Baltic Sea Region, b) where and how age management is offered by CVET institutions in the BSR, and c) which information and consulting campaigns/schemes for SME have been implemented in the BSR member states. The results of this inventory will be compiled into the State of Play report that is the first mandatory output of the seed money project. Based on this assessment, a work plan for the main stage project (mandatory output no. 2) and a report on the funding possibilities (mandatory output no. 3) will be prepared. The objective for the main stage project will be to raise awareness among current and future HR managers and company executives for the benefits of age management and to improve their practical know-how and capabilities to implement it. The target groups will be enabled to better identify and react to the specific needs and abilities of ageing employees, to adapt their working environments and tasks, to guide them through the second half of their professional careers and encourage them to make use of lifelong learning opportunities and to use their know-how and skills in mentoring and knowledge management. To achieve this objective, the main stage project could include activities such as: - an organised exchange and transfer of good practices in age management education based on the inventory of the seed money stage - joint development of new educational offers where none exist so far – this could be for instance curricula, training modules or consulting tools for SME - to identify and approach educational institutions in the BSR and convince them to integrate age management in their existing offers - to possibly develop a joint pan-BSR study programme for age management specialists - to organise professional exchange fora for HR managers - to benchmark and make recommendations for improvement of policy instruments and support schemes for SME - to carry out awareness raising and communication activities with the target groups of a) education providers, b) business development agencies and other institutions supporting SME and c) employers themselves
