Abstract
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest departments of the Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), currently educating about 3 000 student. Lectures are conducted in five Chairs, which include 18 Divisions. In 2000 GUT introduced the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Each student should get during one academic year 60 ECTS points. Obtaining a diploma of BEng requires the acquisition of no less than 210 ECTS credits in 7 semesters, and a MEng degree requires the acquisition of 90 ECTS credits in 3 semesters. Each program of study is approved by the Dean, the Faculty Council and the Vice-Rector for Education.
