Abstract
IATUL Seminar 2019 was held in Gdańsk/Sopot, Poland (December 10-11th, 2019). The theme of the Seminar was „Organizing the Open Science Framework – Strategies and Legal Aspects”. The event was co-organized by Gdańsk University of Technology Library and International Association of University Libraries (IATUL). IATUL Seminar 2019 event attracted delegates, including directors and senior managers of university and research libraries – from Poland, Republic of South Africa, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, USA, the Netherlands and Italy. The main aim of the IATUL Seminar 2019 was to present an overview of current state of openness in science and provide a starting point for the debate about opening up research. The conference focused on reviewing the policy behind institutional repositories and research data services. It explored the legal barriers and solutions to greater access to research data, discussed and presented analysis of Open Access and legal aspects of research data collection. The Seminar attracted more than 60 participants. Last but not least IATUL Seminar 2019 offered a variety of seminars and workshops addressing a number of important issues and current practices in academic libraries.
