Biography
Rafał Ossowski (born June 8th, 1973 in Chojnice) – expert in soil mechanics and geotechnics, mainly in field of numerical modeling and research on anthropogenic soils. Author and coauthor of publications on numerical modeling in soil mechanics, field soil investigation and application of anthropogenic soils in context of so-called "green geotechnics".
In 1992–1997 he studied at the Faculty of Hydrotechnics GUT (renamed: Faculty of Environmental Engineering), later in 1997-2003 he was a PhD student in the field of "Geotechnics in Civil Engineering and Environmental Protection" at Faculty of Environmental Engineering, GUT. He received a PhD degree in 2003. In 2005–2008 he was Dean's Representative for Students' Affairs, currently fulfills duties of Vice Dean for Civil Engineering at Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is also a Secretary of Section of Geotechnics and Underground Infrastructure at Committee of Civil Engineering and Hydroengineering, Polish Academy of Sciences. He is an active member of Polish Committee on Geotechnics and International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
He is husband of Justyna, father of Agata, admirer of shepherd dogs, observer of night sky, interested in photography, music and enduro biking.
