Biography

I’m associated with the University since the year 2000 when I started my studies in Computer Science on the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. After graduating with honors in 2005, I applied for doctoral studies. During his studies and immediately afterward I was involved in cooperation with Hogart from Warsaw, in the implementation of business solutions in Gdynia company Elektronika SA (Infor FMS SunSystems) and CRM for Pioneer Pekao TFI. In the longer term, however, I tied my career with the Gdańsk University of Technology.

I am an employee of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics Gdansk University of Technology since 2007. There, 16.10.2012, based on the doctoral thesis "Merging and mapping domain ontologies", I got my PhD in knowledge engineering. The work was co-founded by the National Science Centre.

After completing work on my doctoral thesis I switched my study towards the problems of natural language processing, text analysis and crowdsourcing. The master and engineering theses that I’m supervising also are located in those fields.

I teach academic subjects: Administration of computer systems (lecture, laboratory, project), OpenSource methodology (lecture and seminar, both in Polish and English), Internet Service Architecture (lecture). On the non stationary studies I teach Team processing (lecture and laboratory) and Developement of Internet Applications (laboratory). In all cases, I am the author of materials and exercises.

In addition to research and teaching I’m involved in a number of organizational activities. I am the administrator of the department’s KASKLab computer lab, which allows me to participate in many interesting projects and ongoing contact with the latest technologies and IT solutions. During the term of office 2012-2016 and 2016-2020 (till 2017) I fulfilled duties of Rector's plenipotentiary regarding Open Science, where my main goal was implementation of open access policy for the University. In 2016, I took the position of deputy head of the Department of Computer Architecture.
