Krzysztof Goczyła, full professor of Gdańsk University of Technology, computer scientist, a specialist in software engineering, knowledge engineering and databases.

He graduated from the Faculty of Electronics Technical University of Gdansk in 1976 with a degree in electronic engineering, specializing in automation. Since then he has been working at Gdańsk University of Technology. In 1982 he obtained a doctorate in computer science and in 1999 habilitation. In 2012 he received the title of professor of technical sciences. Since 2016 he has been a Full Professor at GUT.

At Gdańsk University of Technology, he was, among others, Deputy Dean for the organization of studies (2005-2008) and since 2008 until 2016 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. Since 2015 he has been the Head of the Department of Software Engineering of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. He is the author and co-author of over 170 scientific publications, including 2 monographs. A special recognition won the book "Ontologies in Information Systems" (ed. AOW "Exit", 2011). He promoted 6 doctors. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Polish Association of Artificial Intelligence.

He is co-author of several implemented data processing and information systems, incl. "System for Registrar Office" (SOD), "Computer Timetable" (KRJ) and "System for Faculty Management" (SETI). In 2009 he initiated the "ETI Academy", where courses on ICT are held for high school students of Pomerania region. He formed a research team called Knowledge Management Group @ Gdańsk University of Technology – a scientific school of knowledge engineering. He managed 7 research grants and an infrastructural grant. He is the author of dozens of essays popularizing correct Polish language in technical environments.

He is laureate of the Minister of Science Prize and and The Prize of Chairman of Polish research Council. He received the Gold Cross of Merit and the Medal of the National Education Commission. He is a member of the Council for Digitization at the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs.
