Biography
Assistant Professor in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation.
He graduated in 1993, obtaining Master degree at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Gdańsk University of Technology in the field of study: Mechanical Engineering, specialization: Technological Process Design. After graduation he worked for the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation and his main research area was associated with the abrasive finishing on flat surfaces mainly by lapping technology. In 1996, he took the 10-month internship at Brunel University in London where he studied the wear of ceramic bearing balls. Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation at Gdansk University of Technology, from which he received his Ph.D. in 2001. He completed his habilitation work in 2014. He has conducted the co-operation with Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Fabrikbetrieb at Technical University of Berlin in the field of high-speed grinding. His research areas include abrasive machining, microgrinding, finishing processes, computer aided process planning and manufacturing. He was involved in three scientific grants. He is the author of over 100 scientific papers and co-author of an academic book published by WNT "Computer-aided manufacturing of machine tools: fundamentals and applications." He has given various presentations on his research at national and international conferences, including 2010 ASME International Conference on Manufacturing Science and Engineering in USA. Currently he conducts research in the field of modern manufacturing techniques and design of production processes.
