X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy studies of salivary gland stones

Description

This dataset contains the high-resolution XPS studies for 23 cross-sections of salivary gland stones. The sialoliths were cut to determine the differences in composition between various regions: core (labeled as R), interlayer (labeled as P) and sialolith surface (labeled as Z).

The molecular composition of the specimens was studied using Escalab 250Xi spectroscope (ThermoFisher Scientific, United Kingdom). The spectroscope was equipped in Al Kα monochromatic X-Ray source, spot diameter 250 µm. The pass energy applied was 20 eV. Charge compensation was controlled through low-energy Ar+ ions emission utilizing a flood gun.
