Patryk Ziolkowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Gdansk University of Technology, specializing in Building and Engineering Structures. He works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Engineering Structures. He participated in international projects, including projects for the Ministry of Transportation of the State of Alabama (2015), he is also the winner of a grant from the Kosciuszko Foundation for conducting research in the USA, which he completed in 2018. Co-author of construction expertise related to the subject of concrete structures and general construction. An expert in the field of artificial intelligence. His main area of research interest is the application of artificial intelligence in Civil Engineering. He conducts research projects that focus on the design and optimization of low-emission concrete mixes using machine learning, AI signal processing for the optimization of the construction process, AI algorithms for detecting and predicting the morphology of concrete structure cracks based on visual data and supporting the design of concrete elements with using AI. His additional interests include laser scanning point cloud processing algorithms, broadly understood computer vision, and the use of virtual reality technology in education.
