Assessment of the influence of the method of preparation of chitosan hydrogels and nano-ZnO filler additive on their antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity in the formation of cell carriers.

The aim of the project is to determine the relationship between antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity of chitosan xerogels produced by dissolving the polymer in acid and saturating it with carbon dioxide and containing the addition of zinc oxide in the form of nanoparticles. The tests will be carried out as a function of the molecular weight and the degree of deacetylation of the polymer. The results of the research will allow to plan the composition of chitosan cell scaffolds due to the specificity of the target cells and their requirements.
