Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine whether the commercial emission level is higher than the emission level of a regular program and to check if the commercials broadcasters follow the recommended levels of loudness. The paper shortly reviews some chosen methods of volume measurements specified in the ITU and EBU recommendations. Then, it describes a prototype of a system implemented in Embarcadero C++ Builder 2010 which carries out automatic evaluation of loudness using the recordings acquired from TV programs.
