Electrochemical characterization of a composite comprising PEDOT/PSS and N doped TiO2 performed in aqueous and non-aqueous electrolytes

Abstract

Nitrogen doped titania (N-TiO2) was used as an inorganic component of composite electrodes containing poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) with poly(4-styrenesulphonate) PEDOT/PSS/N-TiO2. The composite materials were obtained by direct electrodeposition from an N-TiO2 suspension containing polyelectrolyte (NaPSS) and monomer EDOT. The electrodes were electrochemically tested in aqueous and non-aqueous electrolytes using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronopotentiometry. A specific capacitance retention of up to 80% between 1st and 10,000th cycles was established for aqueous and aprotic electrolytes.
