Abstract
This introductory article provides a synopsis of the range of archaeological work carried out at Wisłoujście Fortress in Gdańsk in 2013 and 2014. An outline is given of the circumstances in which this work was undertaken, the fieldwork methodology used and the technical problems encountered during excavation.
