  W pracy przedstawiono koncepcje systemu wywołania w niebezpieczeństwie (wołania alarmowego o pomoc) w morskiej strefie przybrzeżnej, opartego o infrastrukturę telekomunikacyjną operatora sieci komórkowej. Omówiono zasady współpracy systemu telefonii komórkowej z Ratowniczym Centrum Koordynacyjnym w systemie GMDSS. Poruszono też problem lokalizowania telefonu komórkowego na morzu.
