  W 2012 roku oczekiwana długość życia w momencie narodzin wynosiła w Polsce dla kobiet 81 lat, a dla mężczyzn 72,7 roku i od 1990 roku wydłużyła się odpowiednio o 5,8 i 6,5 roku.
