The shallow sea experiment with usage of linear hydrophone array
PublicationPurpose of this article is to present designed and made linear hydrophone array and the results obtained during in situ trails on Gulf of Gdańsk. The measuring system allowed to localize hydrophones in the selected points and perform measurements in both the horizontal antenna positioning and vertical. Made in this way recordings allow creating accurate 3D imaging of sound intensity/propagation. During research three floating objects...

Signal conditioning for examination of shallow-water acoustic noise correlation properties
PublicationThe article describes the process of signal conditioning for examination of acoustic noise correlation properties in shallow water. Knowledge of these properties is very important for the design processes of passive and active hydroacoustic systems. This paper focuses on the above issue from the point of view of passive sonar. In sonar systems, signal processing algorithms operate on both useful acoustic signals, and accompanying...

Regularized identification of fast time-varying systems - comparison of two regularization strategies
PublicationThe problem of identification of a time-varying FIR system is considered and solved using the local basis function approach. It is shown that the estimation (tracking) results can be improved by means of regularization. Two variants of regularization are proposed and compared: the classical L2 (ridge) regularization and a new, reweighted L2 one. It is shown that the new approach can outperform the classical one and is computationally...
