Biography
Anita Dąbrowicz-Tlałka graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Gdańsk with an outstanding grade, having written her thesis in the field of geometric topology. She concurrently obtained a diploma in Postgraduate Studies in the Basics of Computer Science at the University of Gdańsk.
In 2001 she received a Ph.D. degree in mathematical studies at the Poznań University of Technology after defending her thesis “Monotonic Iterations for Differential-Algebraic Equations” in the field of mathematical analysis.
She gained her professional experience at the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics of the Gdańsk University of Technology, the Tulane University in New Orleans in the USA and at the Mathematics Teaching Department of the Gdańsk University of Technology, later renamed to Mathematics Teaching and Distance Learning Centre.
Her current scientific research concerns academic-level education with the use of technology and didactics of mathematics at engineering and technical majors. Her scientific interests also cover academic-level didactics in mathematics with the use of mathematical modeling as well as the methodology of conducting such courses in the form of blended-learning and e-learning, preparation of the e-courses content using visual applications and participation in the design and development phase of LMS platforms.
Since 2002 Dr Dąbrowicz-Tlałka has been actively using ICT technology in education and popularizing issues concerning e-learning in teaching of exact and technical sciences. During the years 2003 and 2004 she chaired the mathematical section of the Consortium of Technical Universities appointed for the purpose of coordinating activities in matters of distance teaching of mathematics and physics to high school students. During the years 2007 and 2008 she was a member of the Rectorial Board on the Implementation of IT Solutions at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
Since 2007 she has been actively partaking in various projects dealing with carrying out on-line examinations (on the middle school level in the field of mathematics and environmental studies, the final “Matura” exam after high school in mathematics and on the academic level in the field of mathematical analysis).
Since 2006 until 2009 she held the position of Development of Didactics Deputy Head at the Mathematics Teaching Department.
Since 2009 until 2020 she held the position of Development of Didactics Deputy Head at the Mathematics Teaching and Distance Learning Centre.
