Two-phase water-air flow measurement using gamma-ray absorption technique – transitional plug – bubble flow

Description

The attached datasets contains the measurement results of the air-water flow in a horizontal pipeline. Flow type: transitional plug – bubble flow. The data shows the pulse counts of the two radiometric sets. Each of these kits consisted of a QSA Global Am-241 gamma ray source and a Tesla SKG-1 type NaI(Tl) scintillation probe. The pulses were recorded using a dedicated EC Electronics HSC 800 counter card. The sampling period was 1ms and this is the interval between the values in the attached files. A file ending in "1" contains data from the first probe, and a file ending in "2" contains data from the second probe.

The research installation was built at AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Poland. The figure below shows the installation diagram. The measuring section of the 4.5 m long pipeline and 30 mm internal diameter was made of Metalplex. A detailed description of the set-up and tests of liquid-gas flow can be found in the publications available on the websites: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0955598617303667, https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0301932215000233
