Video traffic data - Interchange Komorniki (A2-5), Poland, 2018

Description

The data includes video traffic data registered with 12 video cameras at weaving area (weaving section type A) of the Komorniki interchange within A2 motorway in Poland (interchange of motorway A2 and national road 5), located in the Poznan Agglomeration. The data covers the two days: 8.09.2017 (motorway A2) and 19.09.2017 (road 5).

The motorway A2 in Poland is a road from the Polish-German border in Swiecko/Frankfurt (connecting to A12 autobahn), through Poznan, Lodz, Warsaw to Polish-Belarusian border in Terespol/Brest (connecting to M1 highway). The last section (Warsaw - Terespol is under construction. The motorway is a part of the European route E30 connecting Berlin and Moscow (source: en.wikipedia.com).

The video cameras installed on the roads A2 and 5 (3 cameras) registered vehicles along the entire length of the weaving section. Cameras were mounted on 5-7 meter high masts.

Collected data include:

  • Motorway weaving, direction EW: 9:00 – 19:00, location: service road, min 393 veh/h, max 507 veh /h, min 27.5- 44.7% PHV (point nb 301).
  • Motorway weaving, direction WE: 8:00 – 19:00, location: service road, min 670 veh /h, max 1466 veh /h, min 4.0- 13.9% PHV (point nb 302). 
  • National road weaving, direction NS: 8:00 – 18:00, location: main road, min 1243 veh /h, max 1866 veh /h, min 8.7 – 18.1% PHV(point nb 303).
  • National road weaving, direction SN: 8:00 – 18:00, location: main road, min 952 veh /h, max 1307 veh /h, min 6.0- 17.7% PHV (point nb 304).

This study is part of MOP-DZ research project: RID2B - Modern methods of calculating the road capacity and assessment of traffic conditions of roads outside municipal agglomerations, including expressway roads, financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (Poland) and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways
