Video traffic data - Interchange Krzesiny (A2-S11), Poland

Description

The data includes video traffic data registered with 10 video cameras at weaving area (weaving section type A) of the Krzesiny interchange within A2 motorway in Poland (interchange of motorway A2 and expressway  S11), located in the Poznan Agglomeration. The data covers the two days: 19.09.2017 (motorway A2) and 20.09.2017 (expressway  S11).

The motorway A2 in Poland is a road from the Polish-German border in Swiecko/Frankfurt (connecting to A12 autobahn), through Poznan, Lodz, Warsaw to Polish-Belarusian border in Terespol/Brest (connecting to M1 highway). The last section (Warsaw - Terespol is under construction. The motorway is a part of the European route E30 connecting Berlin and Moscow (source: en.wikipedia.com).

The video cameras installed on the roads A2 and S11 (2-3 cameras) registered vehicles along the entire length of the weaving section. Cameras were mounted on 5-7 meter high masts.

Collected data include:

  • Motorway weaving, direction EW: 9:00 – 21:00, location: service road, min 577 veh/h, max 995 veh /h, PHV: 26.9 - 37.8% (point no. 401).
  • Motorway weaving, direction WE: 8:00 – 20:00, location: service road, min 609 veh /h, max 1181 veh /h, PHV: 5.0- 14.2% (point no. 402).
  • Expressway S11 weaving, direction NS: 8:00 – 20:00, location: main road, min 1090 veh /h, max 2051 veh /h, PHV: 7,9 - 15,4% (point no. 403).
  • Expressway S11 weaving, direction SN: 8:00 – 20:00, location: main road, min 1770 veh /h, max 2818 veh /h, PHV: 9.3 - 20.3%  (point no. 404).

This study is part of MOP-DZ research project: RID2B - Modern methods of calculating the road capacity and assessment of traffic conditions of roads outside municipal agglomerations, including expressway roads, financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (Poland) and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
