  Przedstawiono wyniki badań zapłonu łuku elektrycznego w topiku w warunkach dużej stromości narastania gęstości prądu, do 5.19 9 A s-1 mm-2. Wyznaczono podziałkę rozpadu topika (0,04-0,12 mm) oraz napięcie zapłonu na elementarnej przerwie topika (20-30 V). Wykazano w badaniach doświadczalnych modelu fizycznego topika rozpad i ponowne łączenie sąsiednich elementarnych przerw.
