A city fragmentation causes a lot of negative effects in urban environment such as: disconnecting the environmental, functional and compositional relations, a loss of urban compactness, chaotic development, visual chaos, a domination of technical landscape, reduction of security. The aim of the article is to discuss the need of defining and implementation of the linear revitalization - the new approach related to the revitalization processes.
