  • Compressible gas density measurement by means of Fourier analysis of interferograms
    Publication

    - MEASUREMENT - Year 2022

This paper describes a method for nonintrusive compressible gas density measurement by means of automated analysis of interferograms using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), and its implementation using DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform), that does make this measurement technique a fairly valuable and accessible experimental method. The presented approach makes it possible to use the finite fringe setting of the interferometer, thus reducing...

  • Measuring the density of DNA films using ultraviolet-visible interferometry
    Publication

    - PHYSICAL REVIEW E - Year 2013

In order to determine a proper value for the density of dry DNA films we have used a method based upon the measurement of interference effects in transmission spectra of thin DNA layers. Our results show that the methodology is effective and the density of DNA in this state, 1.407 g/cm3, is much lower than the commonly used 1.7 g/cm3. Obtaining accurate values for the DNA film density will allow the optical constants for DNA to...

  • Photoelectron spectroscopy of brominated derivative of pyrimidine: 2-bromopyrimidine
    Publication

    - The European Physical Journal-Special Topics - Year 2013

In this study the brominated derivative of pyrimidine, 2-bromopyrimidine, was investigated by photoelectron spectroscopy. Outer valence photoelectron spectra recorded at 21.22, 45 and 100 eV photon energy for this compound are presented. The recorded spectra have a higher resolution than that previously reported in the literature. The bromine 3d and 3p edge photoelectron spectra have also been recorded in a photon impact experiment...

  • Wczesne modele opisujące uszkodzenia nici DNA pod wpływem działania czynników chemicznych oraz promieniowania
    Publication

    - Year 2013

  • Preparation of DNA films for studies under vacuum conditions
    Publication

    - EUROPEAN PHYSICAL JOURNAL D - Year 2010

Experiments were carried out to determine the optimum conditions required for the preparation of uniform films of supercoiled plasmid DNA to be used in irradiation experiments under high vacuum conditions. Investigations reveal that significant damage to the DNA molecules occurs due to the evacuation process when films were formed from DNA samples in ultra high purity water only. A variety of bases were tested for their possible...

  • Quantification of Radiation-Induced Single-Strand Breaks in Plasmid DNA using a TUNEL/ELISA-Based Assay
    Publication

    - RADIATION RESEARCH - Year 2009

Wprowadzono nową metodę służącą do oznaczania in vitro pojedynczych pęknięć nici DNA powstałych pod wpływem naświetlań. Porównano wyniki otrzymane z nowej metody z modelem teoretycznym.
