Biography
Karolina Makowska-Jarosik graduated from the High School in Nowy Dwór Gdański in 2009. She continued her education at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Gdansk University of Technology (1st degree studies) and Faculty Of Mining Surveying And Environmental Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology (2nd degree studies). In 2015, she obtained the title of Master of Science in Geodesy and Cartography at the AGH University of Science and Technology (title of master thesis: "Measurement and stability analysis of the Czorsztyn-Niedzica dam control network monuments").
After graduation, in 2015, she started working in the Department of Geodesy at the Gdansk University of Technology as an assistant. In 2019, she commenced a doctoral degree conferral procedure, and in 2023, she obtained the title of doctor of technical sciences (title of doctoral dissertation: "Determining the observation station position’s changes, using Kalman filtering in geodetic displacement monitoring").
Her research interests mainly concern the deformation analysis of geodetic networks and structural health monitoring systems.
Since 2016, she has been the Hevelius Science Club coordinator.
