Beliefs about psychological help among firemen

Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify beliefs and perceived barriers in psychological help. Findings: 1. Occupational stress and participation in traumatic rescue actions was related with negative beliefs. 2. Firemen were afraid of a commader's reaction. 3. Avoidance coping accounts for fear about stigmatization.
