Changes of microbiological quality of water in distribution system. Zmiany mikrobiologicznej jakości wody w sieci dystrybucyjnej.
Abstract
W artykule przedstawiono mikrobiologiczną jakość wody podziemnej uzdatnianej w dwóch stacjach oczyszczania wody (WTP I i WTP II), w sieci dystrybucyjnej. Obie stacje uzdatniania stosują dezynfekcję za pomocą dwutlenku chloru. Badania wykazały wzrost ogólnej liczby bakterii w miarę zwiększania się odległości od stacji uzdatniania.In the paper microbiological quality of water in distribution system produced in two ground water treatment plants (WTP I and WTP II) is presented. Both plants use chlorine dioxide for water desinfection. At the WTP I there are two-stage continuously gravity filters are operating. At the WTP II, where there is simple treating system (areator and one-stage opening gravity filters) and problems with microbiological quality, UV desinfec-tion and desinfection with hypochlorite are applied Water fulfiling Polish Standards is supplied to the network. Extended microbiological research shows increasing total number of bacteria on the distance between water treatment plant and network edge. Laboratory investigations indicated that the number of bacteria increased also with retention time of water.
