Issues related to noise and protection against noise against the background of hazards present in the working environment
Abstract
Noise is one of the physical factors that poses the greatest threat in the working environment. In order to reduce the noise exposure, noise reduction at the source should be considered. Next, the engineering and administrative controls are being developed. Finally, hearing protectors are used. Issues related to protection against noise are part of the topics in the field of occupational health and safety. That is possible to identify in datasets as Web of Science CC, Scopus - indexed publications on noise and occupational safety and health issues, all years and in 2012-2022 period. The search results were treated generally or filtered according to the country from which the authors of this work come, i.e. Poland. The relationship between the number of articles for the query "”occupational safety and health” AND noise" and the number of articles for the query "occupational safety and health" expressed as a percentage is 4.7 % (2012-2022) and 5.0 % (All years). Comparing the results with the participation of noise in physical factors occurring in the work environment (53.8 %), it can be concluded that the subject of noise is relatively rarely discussed and attention should be paid in this respect.
