Modelling of MV and HV Cable Lines
PublicationOverhead and cable lines are fundamental elements of power systems. Participation of cable lines is smaller and their percentage decreases as voltage is increased. HV cable lines are often built with the use of cables which are composed of coaxial metallic sheaths. Such cables are also often used in MV networks. The sheath may operate in different confgurations. In the case of Polish MV network the sheaths are earthed at both ends....

Novel Tools as New Challenges to HRM Communicational Practices (and the Increasingly Important Social Role of the Manager)
PublicationEach communicational process consists inseparably of three aspects: the linguistic (which means the whole language content of the message), technical (which states the form of the message) and the social (meaning social relations, emotions, behaviours). The recent COVID-19 pandemic deeply influenced several layers of our lives. But the main aim of this chapter is to focus on the communicational processes that normally take place...

Numerical and quantitative analysis of HIV/AIDS model with modified Atangana-Baleanu in Caputo sense derivative
PublicationFractional calculus plays an important role in the development of control strategies, the study of the dynamical transmission of diseases, and some other real-life problems nowadays. The time-fractional HIV/AIDS model is examined using a novel method in this paper. Based on the Atangana-concept Baleanu’s of a derivative in the Caputo sense, the current modified fractional derivative operator uses singular and non-local kernels....

Molecular basis and potential activity of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase toward trimethylamine-based compounds
PublicationReverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitors are currently used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 infections. In this work, novel triethylamine derivatives were designed and studied by rigid and flexible docking and molecular dynamics (MD) approaches. An apo form of HIV-1 RT was also studied by MD simulation to analyze comparative response of protein in ligand-bound and ligand-unbound forms. Among newly designed HIV-1 RT inhibitors,...

Extracting functional groups of ALLINI to design derivatives of FDA‐approved drugs: Inhibition of HIV‐1 integrase
PublicationHIV‐1 integrase (IN) is crucial for integration of viral DNA into the host genome and a promising target in development of antiretroviral inhibitors. In this work, six new compounds were designed by linking the structures of two different class of HIV‐1 IN inhibitors (active site binders and allosteric IN inhibitors (ALLINIs)). Among newly designed compounds, INRAT10b was found most potent HIV‐1 IN inhibitor considering different...

Comparative molecular dynamics study of dimeric and monomeric forms of HIV-1 protease in ligand bound and unbound state
PublicationHuman immunodeficiency virus type 1 protease (HIV-1 PR) is a viral-encoded enzyme that forms a homodimer. HIV-1 PR is essential for replication and assembly of the virus and inactivation of HIV-1 PR enzyme causes production of immature, noninfectious viral particles and thus HIV-1 PR is an attractive target in anti-AIDS drug design. In our current work, we performed molecular dynamics (MD) calculations (500 ns) for two different...

Problems of Connecting Wind Farms to the Power System with HV Cables
PublicationThis paper presents problems caused by connecting wind farms to a power system with high voltage cables. The author highlights possible problems with reactive power compensation, depending on the arrangement of the shunt reactor connection and settings of control systems for reactive power and voltage of the wind farm. The paper also discusses issues of increasing active power losses caused by a shunt reactor installation.

A Paradigm for HV, MV, LV Distribution Grid Development Planning
PublicationIn the literature, including that relating to businesses in the energy (and power) sector, the concept of these organizations’ operating paradigm may be found. The paper discusses the concept of the paradigm, with a focus on the power grid development planning paradigm. Against this background, issues related to energy security and power systems development trends and problems are presented. A new paradigm is proposed for distribution...

Calculations of Short-Circuit Current Flows in Earth Wires of HV Lines
PublicationThis paper presents a method which enables calculating flows of short-circuit currents in earth wires of high voltage transmission lines, and its implementation in the form of a computer programme. The algorithm enables performing calculations for a double-fed line and starconnected lines (three terminal lines). The developed programme enables verifying dimensioning of earth wires in the context of their short-circuit thermal withstand...

Inhibiting activity of HIV-1: protease, reverse transcriptase and integrase all together by novel compounds using computational approaches (flexible and rigid docking)
PublicationAcquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), caused by human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection, is one of the most challenging diseases in recent decades. Nevertheless the shortcomings of chemical drugs such as toxicity, lack of curative effects, the search for more potent anti-HIV agents have been focused in our study. In current study, novel scaffold was designed having a benzyl and imidazole in it which are very...

Persistent homology as a new method of the assessment of heart rate variability
PublicationHeart rate variability (hrv) is a physiological phenomenon of the variation in the length of the time interval between consecutive heartbeats. In many cases it could be an indicator of the development of pathological states. The classical approach to the analysis of hrv includes time domain methods and frequency domain methods. However, attempts are still being made to define new and more effective hrv assessment tools. Persistent...
