This is the histopathological image of KIDNEY tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Male neonate. 8 days. TGA, VSD. After cardiosurgery.

Diagnosis: Acute renal failure with tubular necrosis

Result of the histopathological examination: The kidney specimens show the features of massive hyperemia, necrosis of the proximal tubules (shock kidney) and the presence of blood clots within the calyx.
