Opis

This is the histopathological image of COLON tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Age: 80

Clinical description: Suspicion of Crohn disease. Diverticulosis.

Gender: Female

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-10_10-20

Classification code: Chapter XI - Diseases of the digestive system

Diagnosis: Crohn's disease of large intestine

Result of the histopathological examination: Granulomatous colitis with focal formation of deep fissured ulcerations, with perforation and accompanying purulent inflammatory exudate. The granulomas are scattered throughout the whole intestinal wall, and around the diverticula, in the fatty tissue of the mesentery, and in adjacent lymph nodes. Most of them are non-caseating granulomas, single small ones in the vicinity of ulcers show central necrosis. Conclusion: Granulomatous colitis with perforation. Diverticular disease of the large intestine.
