Opis

This is the histopathological image of BRAIN tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Clinical description: Prematurity. Asphyxia. Suspicion of Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18). Lived 6 days.

Result of the histopathological examination: In the area of the anterior horn of the right ventricle, a massive blood clot is visible, and within the nervous tissue there are features of edema, hyperemia and perivascular hemorrhages. In addition, hyperemia in the soft meninges.
