Opis

This is the histopathological image of PROSTATE GLAND tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Clinical description: Prostate carcinoma

Gender: Male

Classification code: Chapter II - Neoplasms

Diagnosis: Malignant neoplasm of prostate

Result of the histopathological examination: Prostate adenocarcinoma, Grade group 5 (Gleason 9 = 4 + 5). Areas of neuroinvasion and extraprostatic extension (EPE) can be seen. The cancer is present in some areas in the radial margin on both sides and on the left side in the urethral area. The tumor is multifocal, it constitutes about 40% of the area of the sections from both lobes of the prostate. There are also areas of PIN and benign hyperplasia (BPH).
