Biosurfactants - Biodegradability, toxicity, efficiency in comparison with synthetic surfactants
PublikacjaBiosurfactants are natural surface active agents produced by variety of bacteria yeast and fungi. A review of their biodegradability, toxicity and efficiency is presented in order to compare their properties with synthetic surfactants. Due to their high efficiency in many applications and environmentally friendly character we tried to apply them in oil refining process. The efficiency of biosurfactants in this application was very...

Wetting properties of biosurfactant (rhamnolipid) with synthetic surfactants mixtures in the context of soil remediation
PublikacjaWetting properties of synthetic surfactant Rokanol NL6, biosurfactant JBR 425 and their mixture have been investigated. The results show that synthetic surfactant addition worsens physicochemical properties of pure biosurfactant but exhibits much higher oil removal efficiency than biosurfactant does.

Oil removal from polluted soil by washing with surfactants solutions in dynamic conditions
PublikacjaFor washing of the oil from polluted soil surfactants solutions were applied. In a research a nonionic synthetic surfactant - polyoxyethylene ether of synthetic fatty alcohol (Rokanol NL6), rhamnolipid biosurfactant JBR 425 (Jeneil Biosurfactant Co. LLC) and their mixtures were used. Results of oil removal from peat soil and sand with mixtures of surfactants solutions at concentration 0,5 g/dm...

DETERMINATION OF SURFACTANTS IN ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLES. PART II. ANIONIC COMPOUNDS
PublikacjaSurfactants (SAA) with negative charge of polar group are named as anionic compounds. They are main constituent of most products containing synthetic surfactants. The linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LAS), alkyl ethoxysulfates (AES) and alkyl sulfates (AS) are typically applied from this class of compounds. Those surfactants are ingredients of household detergents and cleaners, laundry detergents, cosmetic. Moreover they can be...

A review on recent advances in the application of biosurfactants in wastewater treatment
PublikacjaMicroorganisms produce a variety of non-conventional surface-active molecules, known as biosurfactants. The biosurfactants find diverse applications in the oil industry, agriculture, emulsifiers, and wastewater treatment, to name a few. Since they are produced from microbes, advantages such as biodegradability, lower toxicity, and environmental compatibility can be leveraged compared to the chemical surfactants. Recently, biosurfactants...
