  The Gdańsk hydrogeological system consists of three main aquifers: Cretaceous, Paleogene-Neogene and Pleistocene. Chemical composition of groundwater varies between water-bearing beds, although water from Pleistocene and Paleogene-Neogene aquifers shows much similarities.
