Separation techniques in modern chemical analysis form the basis of most compound separation and identification processes. Their task is to selectively isolate elements or chemical substances from complex mixtures and thus determine their type and quantity. In addition to analytical applications, separation techniques are now also used in preparative processes to isolate large quantities of individual substances. The course will cover extraction, chromatographic, electromigration and other techniques such as filtration, distillation, crystallization. In addition to the theoretical foundations, their practical applications will be discussed.
